A joint venture between Kyoto Fusioneering (KF) and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), FFC combines the depth of knowledge and experience of a national laboratory with the nimble, customer-focussed approach of a leading fusion startup to provide our customers with world-class products and services.
Based on over 70 years of tritium research and support to the global CANDU reactor fleet, CNL’s experts and facilities are among the world’s best for practical research that improves facility safety, performance, and reliability.
In just a few short years, KF has established itself as a leading provider of products and services to the global fusion industry. Their deep bench of fusion experts from around the world and connections with top manufacturers have enabled them to deliver complex engineering projects quickly and efficiently.
Now, CNL and KF are combining their complementary strengths in FFC to develop commercially viable fusion fuel cycles, starting with a fully integrated demonstration loop in Chalk River, Ontario – UNITY-2.
